Canon printers are known for providing excellent and reliable service to their users. However, many Canon users still face many problems when using Canon printers. The Canon G2000 Error 5B00 is one of the common Canon printer errors many users encounter.
Some Canon printer users get this error due to the print head. If the printhead is damaged, you may also get a canon g2000 5b00 error. Open the Canon printer and check the print head.
The problem, you used your Canon MG2400 for a LOT of printing.
Solution 1:
Step 1: enter service mode
Download and install
Service Tool V3400 / Service Mode Tool Version 1.050 in your pc.
1). disconnect your USB cable from the computer.
Turn off the printer.
2). Press and hold the “Power” button.
3). Wait a few seconds until the blue light comes on.
4). Press “Stop” 6 times. Orange and blue lights will alternate; the blue light should be on the sixth time.
5). Release the “Power” button.
6). The blue light will flash for a while. 7.
7). When the light stops flashing, and the LCD screen is blank, you will be in Service Mode.
8). Re-connect the cable to the Computer.
Step 2: reset
Reset the ink counter to 0 :
1). Run Service Tool V3400 / Service Mode Tool Version 1.050
2). After installing it, you will see an option “Ink Absorber Counter” and “Counter value”.
4). A message should warn you that a function has ended.
5). Turn the printer back on.
Solution 2: Clean the printhead
Materials needed for the repair:
1). Demineralized water (+ – 200 ML)
2). Denatured alcohol (which will serve as a solvent) (you can find it in pharmacies or supermarkets)
3). Container (small enough to pour 2 cm of water into it)
4). tissue paper (white preferably, to see the ink coming out of the print head)
But how to fix:
1). Remove printer cartridges (all)
2). Soak the bottom of the print head (2 minutes) in 1 cm of solvent (modified 70% pharmacy alcohol), place on a paper (white tissue) to run off the ink residues on the paper, redo the 3X operation.
3). Be careful, do not touch the place where the ink of the printer cartridges diffuses their ink to the print head (mini chrome round) (small round which clips onto the small round)
4). Reassemble the dry print head, reassemble the cartridges
5). Not mandatory but very recommended: go to control panel => printers => right click on the printer => properties => maintenance => deep cleaning => ok
On the Canon MG2400, the cleaning of the head is done by removing the head, clean preferably with gauze and alcohol modified at 70 °, until the disappearance of traces of ink stuck, then reset the printer with canon printer reset tool.
1). Turn off the printer.
2). Press the “resume” button (red circle in the triangle), and, without releasing, press “power”.
3). Release the “resume” button.
4). Without releasing the “power” button, Press twice on “resume” and remove both buttons.
5). Press “resume” four times. Press power to validate.
6). Press “power” again to restart the print
Paper pinched.
Paper jams are a common mistake with older Canon printer hardware. If you are using an old printer, check for paper jams. Open the printer and look for dust and pieces of paper. The printer may face a paper jam if the paper tears or the paper roll pulls a few pages during the printing process. Remove a piece of paper and remove dust from the printer. Then restart the printer and check for 5B00 errors. Operator Call Error refers to errors that can be fixed by the user or operator, such as paper jam, no paper, and ink cartridge in an incorrect position. Service Call Error, on the other hand, is an error that must be immediately repaired by the Service Center.
There are two methods to reset your Canon printer manual reset or Service Tool reset. If the waste ink absorber has been replaced, the Service Tool will work to reset the waste counter. Service Tools that do not include component replacement will lead to new problems in the future. After having changed the waste ink absorber, the Service Tool can be used to reset the waste counter.
